Why The Frame Matters
A composite deck is only as good as the frame under it.
Composite boards get picked in a showroom. They are not the part that fails. Nashville clay holds water after a storm. August stays humid for weeks. Then January freezes, thaws, and freezes again.
Composite is heavier than wood and it does not span as far. Screw new boards onto joists spaced for old pine and you get a soft, bouncy floor in a couple of summers. The board warranty does not cover that.

Capped Composite
A wood and plastic core wrapped in a hard polymer shell. The shell is what fights fading and stains, so color holds for decades instead of years. This is what most of our Nashville decks are built with.
Cellular PVC
No wood content anywhere in the board, so there is nothing for mold to feed on. Best choice for a shaded yard or a pool surround. Lighter, cooler underfoot, and the priciest of the three.
Composite Re-Decking
Solid frame but worn-out boards? We pull the old surface, repair the structure, and re-deck in composite with fresh railings for a like-new, low-maintenance deck, no full rebuild required.
